We met to
discuss the second chapter of Portnoy’s
Complaint by Philip Roth. After a brief intro about the author, we opened a
discussion, starting with my personal favorite quote: “We would have
manufactured all this mustard”.
We talked about seriousness, Jewishness, and the use of humor, which made us drift away from Roth and discuss Woody Allen and Sarah Silverman. All in all, we agreed that although Roth is no longer shocking, Portnoy’s Complaint is still a highly entertaining, readable and excellent novel.

We also
mentioned the student conference we wish to organize. If you want to get
